  • We support patients, families, and NHS staff across University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust by delivering grant programmes that promote excellence, innovation, and transformation. 

    From helping to create uplifting and supportive hospital environments to funding local research, our work is focused on making a meaningful, lasting difference to healthcare in Plymouth.

  • Thank you for supporting us. Every donation, fundraiser and act of kindness ensures we can make even more of an impact across our hospitals. 

    Here are a few ways you can make a difference:

  • We completely understand that you might have questions about where your donation goes. 

    When you donate, you can choose to support our general fund (which helps where it’s most needed) or to a specific appeal or area of care that’s close to your heart. Your gift will be used as promised. 

    We work closely with NHS staff to understand where grant funding could really make a difference. We then review those ideas carefully through one of our grant panels to ensure your donation has the biggest possible impact.

    Donations can’t be used to cover core NHS services, but they can support projects that make our hospitals better for everyone, such as improving patient spaces, funding specialist equipment and bringing moments of happiness to patients and families. 

  • The NHS is here for all of us, but its funding does not cover the extra comforts and innovations that improve patient experiences. This is where NHS Charities, like ours, make a difference. We fund projects that go beyond NHS provision to make our hospitals as welcoming and supportive as possible.

    Projects like the ICU Secret Garden and the Snowdrop Suite at Derriford Hospital were made possible thanks to your generous donations and highlight the powerful difference that NHS Charities can make.

  • Funding applications go through a formal review process to ensure that projects are inclusive, sustainable and have clear benefits for patients or staff.

    Our grants are awarded by experienced panels who consider each application carefully. We prioritise projects that reflect our values and make a measurable impact.
