Accessibility Statement
Accessibility statement for Plymouth Hospitals Charity
This accessibility statement applies to https://www.plymouthhospitalscharity.org
Plymouth Hospitals Charity is committed to making its website accessible to as many people as possible. We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, speech recognition software or keyboard-only navigation. We have added a accessibility toolbar ‘Userway’ to help users use our site.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this website is
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. This website is partially compliant with these guidelines.
This website was last reviewed for accessibility on 12 November 2025 using Silktide.
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
Some buttons and interactive elements do not have ARIA labels, which may affect screen reader users
Some PDFs and other documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software
Some images contain text
Some older content may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards
This is not a comprehensive list as we are still identifying some accessibility issues. We are working to improve this content and, where possible, provide alternative formats such as audio versions of documents.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
Issues identified through our basic in-house accessibility checks are reviewed and addressed as soon as reasonably possible by the team responsible for the website, with support from external suppliers where appropriate.
Accessibility is considered during ongoing development, particularly for new content and key user journeys.
Accessibility Audits
At this time, we cannot afford to pay an external supplier for a full external WCAG 2.1 accessibility audit.
Due to limited resources, we have completed a basic accessibility check in-house, including manual testing using keyboard navigation and screen readers, and reviewing content against WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidance.
