Fundraising in memory of Sarah Cavey: £1,700 for Birch and Bracken
Sarah’s family presenting the cheque to staff from Birch and Bracken.
Sarah Cavey's family recently visited Birch and Bracken to present a cheque for £1,700, raised in Sarah's memory through an Easter hoedown and donations collected at her funeral.
Organising a hoedown fundraiser was originally Sarah’s idea to say thank you for the care she received on the unit and for the support shown to her family.
The event took place at Weston Mill Oak Villa Sports and Social Club on Saturday 4th April, raising £1,400 in one evening.
Sarah’s sister, Janet, shared that it was bittersweet, but everyone had a great time, with many guests trying line dancing for the very first time. Included below are some lovely photos from the event.
From the team at Plymouth Hospitals Charity, we'd like to say thank you to all who supported this fundraiser and donated. We’re always incredibly touched when people choose to support our hospitals in memory of a loved one. This gift will leave a lasting impact, supporting future patients and their families at Birch and Bracken.
