On Sunday 17 May, we cheered for our amazing Blue Wave runners as they took on the Plymouth 10k and half marathon for our hospitals at the Britain’s Ocean City Running Festival.

A new staff support hub was officially opened at Derriford Hospital last week to improve the health, wellbeing and experiences of colleagues across University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (UHP).

More than 30 fundraisers stepped up to the challenge of our Fire & Lego Walk at Derriford Hospital, raising an incredible £6,500 for our local hospitals!

On Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September, more than 120 abseiling superheroes took on the Derriford Abseil, raising over £40,000 for Plymouth hospitals.

We recently celebrated the first NHS Blue Wave on 11 May 2025 at the Plymouth Half Marathon. UHP staff ran alongside their colleagues and families, as well as thankful patients and supporters, to celebrate our local NHS.  

Plymouth Hospital Charity is thrilled to announce that University Hospitals Plymouth's Derriford ICU Secret Garden has won the coveted Patient Experience Network National Award (PENNA) for 2024.

On the 14th & 15th of September, 170 brave PHC fundraisers tipped their toes off the edge of level 13 and abseiled six floors down, landing above Marks & Spencers.
