Senior golfers in Plymouth have helped make a big difference to young patients at Derriford Hospital, raising an impressive £4,212 for the hospital’s children’s wards.

Persimmon Homes has generously donated £3,000 to Plymouth Hospitals Charity as part of its Community Champions Scheme, which backs good causes across Britain.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Plymouth & District Leukaemia Fund (PDLF), patients across the South West will benefit from faster, more efficient treatment for complex blood cancers.

We’re delighted to celebrate the success of Mrs Murals, whose uplifting artwork has transformed spaces across Derriford Hospital.

For staff at Plymouth’s Child Development Centre, a busy working day paused - just briefly - for calm, care and connection thanks to the staff lottery, which helps fund projects that support staff wellbeing and improved staff areas.

We were delighted to fund a festive Christmas dinner for more than 50 UHP volunteers at Goodness at Greens in Derriford Hospital.

As the NHS enters what is predicted to be the busiest winter period on record for emergency departments and ambulance service, we will be able to provide crucial support to help improve the wellbeing of local NHS staff, both now and in the future, thanks to a £49,980 grant from NHS Charities Together and NHS England.

As winter draws in and festive lights begin to twinkle across our communities, we want to shine a spotlight on two extraordinary individuals; Robert Carter-Lovell and Brian Steele, who are transforming parts of Plymstock into a magical winter wonderland.

It was lovely to join the Plymouth branch of the National Axial Spondyloarthritis Society (NASS) for a cheque presentation to the Physiotherapy team at University Hospitals Plymouth. Read more about it here.

In February 2025, Mick began his second major Plymouth-based portrait series titled The Champagne Room Sessions, which he kindly dedicated 10% of the net proceeds to the Mustard Tree Cancer Support Centre.

Plymouth Hospitals Charity welcomed senior colleagues from Mitie Projects MEP to Derriford Hospital for an on-site visit and presentation, celebrating their recent fundraising success and their early commitment to supporting the future Big Dreams Appeal.

On Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September, more than 120 abseiling superheroes took on the Derriford Abseil, raising over £40,000 for Plymouth hospitals.
